4. Tag someone by typing their name. To do so:

  • Start a post or a talk about another post, image, or video.

  • Start typing a somebody's name anywhere in the post or comment. Facebook will make tips as you type.

  • Alternatively, type @ before typing a name. This lets Facebook understand that you wish to tag someone in your post or comment.

  • Tap the name of the user you wish to tag when it appears.

  • Tap Post in the upper-right. Your post or remark will be published, and the other user will receive an alert that you tagged them in a post.


On Desktop


1. Go to http://www.facebook.com in a Web browser.

  • Log in, if you're not signed in automatically.

  • You might not be able to tag some people or services due to their privacy settings.


2. Tag someone in a picture. To do so:

  • Click an image in among your photo albums, on your Timeline, or on a pal's Timeline.

  • Click Tag Picture at the bottom of the image.
