Tagging in Facebook takes place when you include a friend's name as a link in among your posts. 2. Tag someone in a photo. To do so:

  • Tap an image in one of your image albums, on your Timeline, or on another's Timeline.

  • Tap the icon formed like a shopping tag at the top of the screen.

  • Tap anywhere on the image. Usually, tags of people appearing in an image are put on top of their image, but you can tap anywhere you like.

  • Start typing the name of a person.

  • Tap the name of the individual you wish to tag when it appears in the dialog box. Doing so tags them in the photo.

3. Tag someone in a post. To do so:

  • Start a new post by tapping the status update timely at the top of your Newsfeed or -Timeline. It will check out "What's on your mind ...?", "Would you want to share an upgrade ...?", or something similar.

  • Tap Tag Individuals. It's beside a blue shape near the bottom of the screen. If you do not see this option, tap Include to your post below the message prompt to open the menu of options.

  • Tap Who are you with? at the top of the screen.

  • Additionally, tap someone who appears in the "RECOMMENDATION" list on the screen.

  • Start typing the name of a person.

  • Tap the name of the person you wish to tag when it appears on the screen. Type other individuals's names and tap them if you wish to tag more than someone.

  • Tap Performed in the upper-right when you're finished. On Android, the button may be identified Next.

  • Write a comment and tap Post in the upper-right corner. Your post will appear on your -Timeline, and the other user will get a notice that you tagged them in a post.


4. Tag somebody by typing their name. To do so:

  • Begin a post or a remark on another post, image, or video.

  • Start typing a somebody's name throughout the post or comment. Facebook will make recommendations as you type.

  • Alternatively, type @ before typing a name. This lets Facebook know that you wish to tag someone in your post or comment.

  • Tap the name of the user you want to tag when it appears.

  • Tap Post in the upper-right. Your post or comment will be published, and the other user will receive a notification that you tagged them in a post.


On Desktop


1. Go to http://www.facebook.com in a Web internet browser.

  • Log in, if you're not signed in instantly.

  • You may not be able to tag some people or services due to their personal privacy settings.


2. Tag someone in a photo. To do so:

  • Click an image in one of your image albums, on your Timeline, or on a buddy's Timeline.

  • Click Tag Picture at the bottom of the image.

  • Click a face or anywhere else on the image. If individuals appear in the picture, Facebook will highlight a Face. If its algorithms recognize an individual, Facebook will suggest a person to tag.

  • Start typing a name.

  • Click the name of the person you want to tag when it appears in the dialog box. Doing so tags them in the image.

  • Click throughout the black background when you're ended up. The other user will get a notice that you tagged them in a picture.


3. Tag someone in a post. To do so:

  • Start a new post by clicking the status upgrade timely at the top of your Newsfeed or Timeline. It will read "Exactly what's on your mind ...?", "Would you like to share an upgrade ...?", or something comparable.

  • Click Tag Friends. It's next to a blue silhouette near the bottom of the dialog box.

  • Start typing the somebody's name.

  • Write a remark and click Post in the lower-right corner. Your post will appear on your Timeline, and the other user will get an alert that you tagged them in a post.


4. Tag someone by typing their name. To do so:

  • Begin a post or a talk about another post, photo, or video.

  • Start typing somebody's name anywhere in the post or comment. Facebook will make recommendations as you type.

  • Alternatively, type @ prior to typing a user's name. This lets Facebook understand that you want to tag somebody in your post or comment.

  • Click the name of the user you desire to tag when it appears.

  • Click Post in the lower-right corner of the dialog box. Your post or remark will be published, and the other user will receive a notification that you tagged them in a post.
